Yellow Bird Premiere

yellowbird-bugAfter much hard work getting it finished, finally Yellow Bird had it’s world premiere as part of the BFI London Film Festival. Directed by long-time Tim Burton and Wes Anderson collaborator, Christian De Vita, it’s an animation for all ages telling the tale of a family of birds attempting their annual migration led by the clueless but cute Yellow Bird.  I recorded and mixed Stephen Warbeck’s beautiful score in London and Belgium. First the soloists, recorded in AIR Studio 1, followed by the Brussels Philharmonic (conducted by Dirk Brossé) and mixing at Galaxy Studios in Belgium.

The BFI première, featuring a Q&A at the end of the screening, provided some interesting insights into the production of the film, including the recording of “bird-foley” and having an ornithologist as part of the crew. Look out for the full theatrical release soon.
